ONION HARVESTERS

The harvesters are ideally suited for harvesting seed and set onions. The machines are characterized by their robust construction and come fully equipped as standard. The MLR series offers models in three different working widths. A square harvesting shaft lifts the onions from the ground. A twisted square harvesting shaft is optionally available. A twisted harvesting shaft ensures a more consistent harvesting process and reduces peak loads on the drive. A 65 cm coulter disc is mounted on either side of the harvesting shaft, ensuring that the onions are properly fed into the machine.
The first sieving web is equipped with fixed agitator rollers, ensuring that the onions on the first web are thoroughly shaken apart.
A solid pressure roller with a scraper is mounted beneath the second sieving web, leveling the ground beneath the machine so that the onions land on a flat bed and can be easily retrieved during loading. The sophisticated positioning of the rear wheels guarantees the harvesters' stability. Adjustable, ground-following sleds allow for the creation of a swath, ensuring optimal drying of the onions.

Harvesting wider beds
The MLR1800-S onion harvester can harvest beds up to 2.25 meters wide. This harvester has a working width of 1.80 meters and is equipped with two driven discs. These discs bring the outer rows of onions inward so that they are already within the harvester's working width in front of the harvesting shaft. They are then collected from the bed along with the other rows of onions. With a harvester with a working width of 2.25 meters, it sometimes happens that the chisel in front of the harvesting shaft throws the soil lower down to the next row of onions. Because the machine is narrower, this is not the case with the Maclouis MLR1800-S onion harvester. The harvesting shaft is also 40 mm instead of 45 mm, so harvesting is shallower.

Swath discharge

The onion harvester can be equipped with a hydraulically driven swath spreader. This allows for various onion placement options. The harvester is then equipped with hydraulically adjustable discharge belts, allowing for side-swath placement. Center placement remains possible. The swath spreader can also be used as a collection bunker.t.
