The Maclouis MLK is a reliable haulm topper for defoliating onions, silverskin onions, chicory, carrots, and beetroot, among other crops. The MLK haulm topper is typically mounted on the front of the tractor, with an onion harvester attached to the rear. This allows haulm topping and harvesting to take place in a single pass. The MLK haulm topper has horizontally rotating blades that cut the haulm from the crop. During the same pass, the blades transport the haulm to the right side for optimal results. The blade cover is spring-loaded, keeping it cleaner. A flap at the front of the cover opens 180 degrees, providing easy access to the blades and allowing you to lubricate the bearings. The blades are driven by a gearbox and V-belts.
